DPA-Dx

Clinical significance

Molecular allergy diagnostics detect specific IgE antibodies in serum or plasma. However, the detection is not based on antibodies against total extracts of the allergen sources, as is the case in conventional allergy in vitro diagnostics, but on those against recombinantly produced individual proteins (components). These so-called defined partial allergen diagnostics (DPA-Dx) ensure exact identification of the allergy-causing component(s) and the results enable the user to draw further conclusions in consideration of current guidelines and literature.

Diagnostics

EUROIMMUN offers inhalation, food and insect venom DPA-Dx profiles to simultaneously test for sensitisations to all relevant components of the respective allergen sources.
